This article is to provide information to importers and customs brokers on what Post Customs Clearance Audit (Customs Audit) is and what they are expected to know when being audited.
Road tax is an annual fee charged on vehicles for the use of public roads. Before any road tax fee can be made, the registered vehicle must undergo a Road Worthiness Test.
Who is Eligible?
Concessions for unaccompanied personal effects are available for those who may be taking up residence in Vanuatu for the first time;
(1) If a person requires the services of a Customs officer:
(a) outside the normal working hours of Customs; or
(b) at a Customs controlled area; or

A few important points to take note of:
It has become apparent that a large number of vehicles on the road carrying exempted plate numbers has either already expired OR vehicle owners driving such exempted vehicles are not entitled to hold those plate numbers.
Change of vehicle ownership applies when individuals and companies sell a vehicle to a new owner.
Driver’s license can only be issued once the applicant has passed the driving test from the Vanuatu Police Traffic Section. A Certificate of Ability to Drive is then issued by the Section to the successful applicant.
